Five benefit's of using Natural Light in Newborn Photography
Newborns in Natural Light and why its Tahlia from Wylde Folk’s favourite;
By allowing the natural light to seep through the sheer curtains into the studio, it helps soften the sunlight and capture's the babies natural beauty. The natural light also helps to create soft contracts and shadows creating interest and depth in the images.
When capturing a newborn you want to have a calm environment. To help achieve this we recommend parents to bring babies freshly bathed and fed, the studio is warmed and having some gentle music or white noise playing is a must. Natural light is less overwhelming for the newborns (and toddlers) over the harsh flashes and bright lights of traditional studio photography.
Natural light compliments a minimalistic studio space and photography style. When photographing the newborn- it keeps the focus on just them and their teeny tiny newborn features.
When photographing a newborn in natural light, it is time friendly to set up the studio. All you need is a well lit space, a posing beanbag, a beautiful selection of wraps/blankets and the sheer curtains to allow the natural light to seep through. Minimalism at it's best!
When using natural light you will require less equipment. You won't need all the cords or stands that are used with artifical light .
